Turn Back Time

Good Morning Everyone,

Today is the turn of another challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu.

This weeks theme is from the pink team and was selected by the very talented Sandi. This weeks theme is "TIME"

This was a bit of a head scratcher for me this time around. However luckily for me I keep back copies of some of my magazines so went to the -what I call library- to have a look through for inspiration and on one of the past issues of Craft Stamper here was a delightful little pocket watch and sentiment stamp, so that was it it was decided to use that.

To make the card I folded an A4 piece of card in half long ways, and matted and layered it, to make the mats I used my Ink Dusters and distress inks. For the sentiment background I used the free stamp and stamped it using three different coloured brown inks two being distress ink and one being a memento ink pad.  For the top layer I stamped the clock three times in the darkest colour then stamped two of the sentiment stamps to hide the blank space. The card was completed with a dark brown promarker run around the edges of the layers and 6 pieces of Card Candi.

Here is the end result.

Sorry about the photo, I just could not get it to photograph correctly. ggrr

The challenges I am going to enter this into are:-
Brown Sugar Challenge - Boy/Man
Stampin' for the weekend - Anything Goes
Stampin' with the Dragon - Anything Goes
Creative Card Crew - No Designer Paper

That is it for me, got lots of things coming up soon, so please pop back when you get to mins.

Exciting News

Good Morning Everyone,

Well today I have some exciting news to share with you all.

I was selected by the editor of Complete Cardmaking to join part of her Design Team.

This is the first magazine I have ever been published in and when I first started card making that was my goal I always said to my husband I would love to be in a magazine and my wish has now  come true.

The magazine (Issue 44) went on sale yesterday and as always it is full of inspiration, advice and tutorials.

The Cover of the Magazine - So you know what you are looking for :-)

The Inside of the magazine (I have blurred it slightly to meet magazine guidelines)

The Elephant Card
The Birthday Cake Card

It was hard to "tone" down the cards so that the image was the main feature of the card but I do think that they look good.

I am really looking forward to working with the magazine again.

Thanks for taking the time to look and don't forget next time you are in town, to pop in and pick up a copy of your magazine, after all it does come with a free CD rom, packed with images, papers and much more from Debi Moore, Crafters Companion, Sarah Paris, and Funky Hand.

Well that is if for me for today.

I will be back tomorrow with a lovely card for Eclectic Ellapu

Good Morning Everyone,

Today I am showing you a card I have made for the Through The Craft Room Door Challenge. I have been lucky enough to be selected to be a Guest Design Team Member for this weeks Challenge.

This week's challenge is sponsored by Rick St Dennis and I was giving Joanie The Flower Child Digi Stamp to use for my card.

I must admit I groaned when it come through I really didn't know what I was going to be doing with her, so I just went and had a play.

Picked my papers and then coloured her in using the colours to match the papers.

I have used Grand Nestabilities Label 23 for the card design and a oval xcut medium size to cut around the image, I cut the butterfly from my cricut machine, and used the same colours that I used for my top for the butterfly, this gave the butterfly lovely texture. I used a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder on the top layer called Bloom Dots.

I hope you like and I do hope you will pop over to Through The Craft Room Door Challenge and join us for this weeks challenge - Always Anything Goes.

Summer Time Fun

Good Morning Everyone,

Today is a new challenge over at Patties Creations Challenge Blog  This weeks theme is "Summer Time Fun" This challenge will run for three weeks, so it gives you plenty of time to enter.

The card I have for you is a lovely 7x7 card. It is a white card blank with a green backing paper which has white spots on, matted onto this is a pink backing paper to give dimension I have mounted this onto foam tape to give it extra volume, the stripy paper is embossed. The corner die has been cut and inked through the die using a stencil effect. I curled this slightly and mounted it using silicon glue to give a curved look to it.

The image is coloured using promaker pens and a couple of flex pens to help with the shading.

To finish the card I have used six "sunflowers" to give it a real summer feeling to it.

The image I used is called Daisy's Dream Bubble and the image can be purchased here

Good Morning Everyone,

Today I have for you a fathers day card that I made for my dad.

It was fathers day here in the uk on Sunday and I have been dying to show this card off, but didn't want dad to find it on blog (he does view often bless him) for him to spot it and spoil it.

The card I made is 8x8 - again don't do what I did make the card slightly less then 8x8 otherwise it won't fit in the envelope .. mmm you can guess how I found that one out!

I have used a Lili of the valley stamp, this is from the male release they did in May and I was fortunate enough to win a full set on their blog hop :-)

Here is the card

Some Bunny Loves You

Good Morning Everyone,

Today is a new challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu This weeks challenge is being hosted by the lovely Asha
her challenge is Summer Sunshine.

Perfect for this time of the year, just a shame the sun seems to have forgotten to shine again!

Anyway this weeks card is a 8x8 card - Top tip here, I make my own card blanks, now you need to make it slightly less then 8x8 otherwise it doesn't fit in an 8x8 envelope.. Mmm wonder how I found that one out (oops) The card is matted onto pearl pink card and the a further mat of white card and backing papers. The image is cut using the labels 23 collection from Nestabilities. I used the smallest one in my set as I have the grand set.

The image is from the lovely Joanna Sheen range "Messy Rabbit" now I am positive this range has been discontinued, which is a shame as he was really popular, but I guess times change.

To finish the card  I added Ribbon, Bow, Heart Pearls, Corner Die from Joy Dies, six "sunflowers" that have brown card candi placed in the middle.  I finished it with the sentiment of "happy anniversary"

The bunny is coloured in using promarkers.

I love the colours and the flowers, especially the sunflowers, reminds me of growing them at home with my dad in the summer in our back garden.. Really should have a go at growing them now.

Here is the card

 The Bunny

Beautiful Butterflies

Evening Everyone,

Well this week has been a strange week, it seems to have taken forever to get to Friday but I didn't get chance to do much crafting.. How does that work?

Anyway the card I have for you today, was actually an order I received of a very close friend.
The task was do anything but for an anniversary.. So this is what I come up with.

I have created an A5 card blank, on to this I matted up two layers, the first layer started of a white card piece that I used my distress inks on, well should have only used one colour, but I dropped my sponge in my coffee so had to use the next shades sponge and it slightly contaminated it, but I was actually really pleased with the look and I might try mixing my distress inks together more often see what happen.. Shame about that coffee tho!

The next layer was a piece of paper from a booklet I got with a magazine I kid you not probably about 4 years ago, it was from Making Cards and was from the Nancy Watt Collection.

Onto this I matted my "topper" this was created using my Cricut Expression machine.

I set the machine onto portrait and multi cut, I put the cream card onto my mat and asked the machine to cut three butterflies at 2inches using the Martha Stewart Elegant Cake Cartridge the butterfly I used was from page number 48 of the booklet and I kept the shift key on.

Once this was done I trimmed the topper down to approx 3 inches by just over 7 and 1/2 inches

I then matted this onto a piece of scrap paper out of my scrap box that actually worked well with the original backing paper.. It wasn't my original choice of paper but I like it much better then what I had first picked out.. So I was pleased to tell my hubby that, that scrap box of bits is actually useful hahaha. (he rolls my eyes when I shout at him for throwing scrap bits away from the cutting area)

The three pink butterflies were cut again from the Cricut using the same cartridge and the same page number of the booklet, this time I just cut it without the shift key.

To finish of the card I added a sentiment, three pearls to each butterfly, eight gems to the relevant corners and three piece of pastel pink card candi.

So after all this waffling on here is the card.

The Ingredients
A5 card blank
Card to layer with - I used white and coloured with Promarkers
Backing paper
Strip of card for topper
Die Cut 3X Butterflies or punch would work
8 gems
9 pearls
3x card canid
Promarker - to colour the butterflies

The Challenges I am entering this into are:-

Everybody Art Challenge - Scrap Paper #240
Delightful Challenge - Wedding and Anniversaries
Bearly Mine Challenge - Anything Goes
Through The Craft Room Door - Anything Goes

Pattie and her team have certainly giving me a warm welcome.

The challenge this week is Fathers Day

I selected one of Patties images and decided to use clock to create the card that I have made, I picked the clock to give me even more of a challenge as I have never created a card with a clock on before.

Beary Christmas

Evening Everyone,

Wow where has today gone? the time seems to have flown today. I managed to get in the craft room for half hour and made the following card. It is another Christmas card and this card has been made for a lady I know who loves forever friends decoupage, but hates fussy cards - this was a challenge on it's own. I love embellishments on my card and I hope this will suit her needs.

To make this card I have used a 6x6 inch card, matter it with a red layer which has been created using Brick Red distress ink, matted on top is another white square and in the centre of that I have used the a2 Curved borders from Spellbinders .. I love these dies... This cut has been coloured using the distress ink as well. I have used a white embossing powder and stamped and embossed some snowflakes.
The image is a forever friends decoupage that I have had in my stash for a while. To finish the card I have stamped a Christmas sentiment, place three snowflakes and six red gems.

Anything With Wings

Morning Everyone,

Today is our turn for the pinkies over at Eclectic Ellapu this is my second week with my new Design Team and this weeks theme is Anything With Wings.

I have to say for some reason I had zero inspiration for this challenge.

So instead of making a card, I made a tag. Which is not like me I normally don't venture away from cards or scrapbooks so for me this was a challenge in its self.

I create the tag by cutting three tags off in half inch increments of my Cricut Machine.

The largest tag I left white. The middle tag I embossed and coloured with a promarker to match the colour I wanted. The smallest size tag I used my distress inks and a Momento Inkpad to give it the colour, to finish this layer of I used clear and white embossing powder over swirls that I stamped, to give it more detail.

The butterflies that I have used have also been cut from the Cricut machine, the larges at 1 and half inch and the smallest at 1 inch.

Well here is the tag.

The Ingredients
3 tag sizes
Distress Ink - Milled Lavender and Victorian Velvet
Momento Ink - Sweet Plum
Butterflies Die
Ribbon
Embossing Folder
Promarker Pen
Glitter Glue
Swirl Stamp
White and Clear Embossing Powder

The Challenges
The challenges I am putting my tag forward for are:-
